Nurkic was traded to the Phoenix Suns on September 27, 2023. He made his debut on October 24, 2023, and has since been making significant contributions to the team. Nurkic started his professional career in 2012 with Cedevita in Croatia, and after being selected by the Chicago Bulls in the 2014 NBA Draft, he played for the Denver Nuggets and the Portland Trail Blazers before joining the Suns in 2023. He also represents the Bosnian national team in international competitions, such as EuroBasket 2022.
