The Tibetan White Yak: A rare color phase, with approximately 3% found in China and Tibet, mostly in Tianzhu Tibet. These majestic creatures thrive in high altitudes, resembling something out of Sesame Street. In Tibet, the majority of yaks are white. When China aimed to expand into Tibet in the late 1930s, they saw yaks as a way to “modernize” Tibetan culture.
